Class Discussion Reflection

This past Friday, our class had a discussion on the Health Care Reform.  Many issues were made by different people and their perspectives on the issue.  How the health care reform will create jobs was a good question that was brought up.  An idea that i heard that really stood out to me was the fact that perhaps obama should have tried to fix the economy first then the health care reform.  My point is why are we debating on how we can pay the health care for everyone, when we are constantly wasting billions of dollars in war on a weekly/ monthly basis.  Obama stated that starting in July he will start clearing troops out of Iraq and Afghan, i say why cant he just start now? why are there so much soldiers still over there? America can save billions of dollars and use that for health care by withdrawing soldiers from war.

Guns being bought in USA and used in Mexico

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/41257218/ns/us_news-crime_and_courts/

Drug Cartels have been in war with other cartels and the Mexican government.  It is reported that many drug traffickers from various cartels have been buying weapons in local Arizona gun shops.  On Tuesday morning, cops arrested 20 people who are suspected of illegally buying AK-47's.  It is a very controversial topic because about 3 weeks ago a "lunatic" shot and killed/wounded many people with his purchased glock.  Perhaps those actions and know these people being arrested, maybe the armed law will be appealed.

Lieberman wont run in 2012.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/41142447/ns/politics-capitol_hill/

Senator Joe Lieberman  (68) will not run for his 5th term.  He was defeated in 2006 and then ran as an interdependent and won the job.  Perhaps old age was the reason for his decision.
